Spinal Cord Injury Research
This unique IMRIC collaboration brings together experts from three prominent institutions: the University of British Columbia, The Rick Hansen Institute, and IMRIC, to share ideas and develop a universal standard of care and treatment for patients with spinal cord injury.
The collaboration is already making a significant improvement to the treatment of spinal cord injuries, including developing better techniques for stabilizing the patient after the injury, better standards of care, safer surgery, better recovery of nerve function and, ultimately, better locomotion.
Partnering with Dr. Aharon Lev-Tov, a pioneer in research and treatment of spinal cord injuries, and his IMRIC team, the Rick Hansen Institute has created an international spinal cord injury registry. This will be an invaluable resource for researchers, clinicians, and health-care administrators seeking to improve the effectiveness of specific spinal cord injury treatments.
